Senior Freshman (2nd year)
In the second year you will take the following modules:
- CL 2307 Greek History (2011-12 and alternate years) or CL 2310 Roman History (2012-13 and alternate years)
- HI 2100 Europe, c.1215-1517: Religion, Death and Culture
- Art in the Age of Chivalry (2011-12 and alternate years)
Other modules which may be included in the curriculum include:
- CL 2308 Greek Archaeology (2011-12 and alternate years) or CL 2311 Roman Archaeology (2012-13 and alternate years)
- CL 2312 Roman Britain (in 2012-13 and alternate years)
- HA 2347 Painting and Sculpture in the Italian Renaissance (in 2011-12 and alternate years)
- HA 2346 City, Court & Campagna: The Foundations of Renaissance Architecture (in 2012-13 and alternate years)
- HI 2120 Medieval and Post-medieval Archaeology
- HI 2101 Anglo-Saxons, Vikings & Their Impact on Britain & Ireland
- HI 1202 Ireland 1000-1250: Brian Boru to the English Invasion
- HI 1203 Ireland, c.1250-1500: Gaelic Revival and English Pale
- HI 2111 The Hundred Years War
Students, who wish to study Latin either at beginner or advanced level, may include language appropriate modules in their curriculum.
It is possible to spend all or part of the second or third year at one of our partner institutions in other countries. Results from these universities are recognised as part of your TCD degree – so spending time abroad does not lengthen the times needed to obtain a degree.
