Description: This course will build on the Language course of the Junior Freshman year taking the student from the equivalent of Junior Certificate level to that of Leaving Certificate. Again the emphasis will be on developing and perfecting written and oral skills in both grammar and language laboratory classes and students will be introduced to some modern literary texts in the original language. All participating students will be expected to spend two months during the course of their degree in an Irish-speaking district (Gaeltacht) and it is recommended that part of that requirement be met during the Senior Freshman year.
